Who is this course designed for?

The IPSF Level 1 Certificate is suitable for:

- Individuals with a basic understanding of the code of points (e.g., athletes) seeking to enhance their competitive programs.

What level does the Level 1 certificate qualify me for?

The course qualifies successful candidates to develop pole sports, artistic pole, and ultra pole routines in accordance with IPSF requirements for all levels of competition. Passing the course enables participants to apply for IPSF coach status.

Requirements to attend the course:

Candidates are required to:

- Be at least 10 years of age on the first day of the course.

- Have some experience in pole sports/artistic pole.

- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of executing pole elements and the technicalities involved in participating.

How is the course delivered?

The IPSF Level 1 Certificate course is delivered by an accredited IPSF tutor and comprises three phases:

1. Pre-course study: Approximately 2 hours, to be completed before the five-hour tutor-led training session.

2. Tutor-led training:  A five-hour session, either face-to-face or via the Zoom online platform.

3. Written assessment:  Online assessment covering all aspects of pre-course study and live training.

Throughout the program, theoretical understanding of the Pole Sports Code of Points is woven into technical and tactical skills discussions and video reviews. Candidates will have ample opportunities to ask questions and receive feedback on their Code of Points skills. Assessment is conducted through an independent online assessment within two weeks of the course conclusion.

Successful candidates achieving an 80% pass rate or more will receive a certificate.

All candidates will receive high-quality downloadable resources, including an induction pack, IPSF Pole Sports Code of Points, Artistic Pole and Ultra Pole rules and regulations, and a resource sheet supporting core learning outcomes.

About the instructor

Petra Larsson

Since 1996 Petra has been in the industry and is still passionate about this great form of training. Being an aerobics instructor since age 16 and a past pro-basketball player (including the Swedish National Team and University in the USA) fitness and health has always been a big part of her life. She is now running the largest studio in Europe; Studio Dancing Queen in Stockholm and is the founder of the Swedish Pole & Aerial Federation. She is a well renowned judge around the world with +60 international competitions under her belt which includes 10 world championships (head judge since 2015) and 4 European championships. She is an active Head judge and Master trainer for the IPSF. Petra was the first to conduct instructor trainings in chair, pole and hoop in the Nordics, and her winning style of combining fun but tough classes with inspirational choreography makes her a unique teacher. With over 6 000 classes, 35 teacher trainings and more than 800 bachelorette classes the least you can say is that she has experience! She has been in numerous TV-shows and is a well-known health and fitness profile in Sweden. She started dancing at a young age with rhythmic dance and ballet, so dancing has always been close to her heart. And living without having dance in her life is not living!
